The External Transcription message action can create transcription documents and apply Missing Signature or Edit Transcription deficiencies to those that are incomplete. Deficiencies can be created at any stage of the chart completion process. They are applied to the first page of the transcription document.
This message action always assigns the attending physician as the deficiency's primary signer. The Responsible Physician chart data field is not supported with this message action. Using the Responsible Physician field with this message action may result in the creation of duplicate deficiencies.
This message action is not affected by the Allow Single Deficiencies to be Assigned to Secondary Signers or Allow Secondary Signers to Complete Dual Missing Dictation Deficiencies setting in Medical System Settings.
