To use the Medical Alert Processor, make sure the following chart data fields are mapped to HL7 message template fields (either through chart data field configuration or through chart field overrides):

Use the additional medical alert chart data fields to track other information, including abnormality, date recognized, and responsible observer.
Certain chart data fields must be mapped to HL7 messages at the field or component level; they cannot be mapped to subcomponents. For medical alert information, these fields are MedAlert - Alert ID and MedAlert - Abnormal Flag.
