Allows for the processing of merge items, document revisions, and email alerts which were pending processing at the time when the HL7 module was upgraded from a version earlier than OnBase EP3. These jobs had previously been handled by the -HL7PROCESSOR, but since EP3 that functionality has been moved to the HL7 Listener.
OnBase prevents multiple processors from running concurrently. Multiple processors can be configured to run as a high availability strategy, which means if one processor goes down, OnBase will let the other one take over within 60 seconds.
This legacy processor only acts on work that had already been queued for processing at the time of the upgrade. It has no effect on new processing work, and does not function as a replacement for the HL7 Back-end Job Processor. It is intended to be used only as an aid in the upgrade process.
