Once clinically relevant dates have been configured for a medical records Document Type, you can apply the same configuration to other medical records Document Types. Clinical date configuration can be copied to other Document Types which have the same types of dates available as those selected for the original Document Type.

To copy clinically relevant date configurations:

  1. Select Medical | Context Configuration | Clinical Date Configuration. The Clinically Relevant Date Configuration dialog box is displayed.
  2. Select the Document Type whose clinically relevant date configuration you want to copy.
    Tip:

You can select a Document Type Group from the drop-down list to filter the list of available medical record Document Types.

  3. Click the Copy button. The Assign Document Types dialog box is displayed.
    Tip:

You can select a Document Type Group from the drop-down list to filter the list of available medical record Document Types.

  4. Select one or more Document Types you want to copy clinical date configuration to from the Available list.
    Note:

Any Document Types which have already been configured to use the same clinically relevant dates as the Document Type from which configurations are being copied are not included in the Available list.

  5. Click Add to move the selected Document Types to the Selected list.
If any of the selected Document Types are missing necessary dates, an error is displayed and the Document Type cannot be added. For example, if the Document Type from which clinically relevant dates are being copied is configured to use chart dates, this configuration can only be copied to other chart-level documents.
  6. Click Save. A dialog box is displayed, asking you to schedule a job to update the selected Document Types with the new clinically relevant date configuration. If you have not created a Medical Records Relevant Date Updater task in the Unity Management Console, see Creating a Relevant Date Updater Task.
  7. Click Yes. The Select a task dialog box is displayed.
  8. Use the drop-down list to select the Unity Scheduler task to process the update job.
  9. Click OK.
