On systems that allow overlapping identifiers, OnBase uses assigning authorities to identify the medical record the document belongs to.

  1. Make sure the assigning authority Keyword Type is assigned to all Document Types in a medical record Document Type Group.
  2. Make sure the assigning authority Keyword Type is assigned to all Document Types that may be indexed by AutoFill Keyword Sets containing the identifier Keyword Type.
    This requirement ensures the correct documents are updated in the event an identifier Keyword Value is merged.
