To ensure .NET Framework is installed properly on Windows Server 2012 R2 or Windows Server 2016:

  1. Add the Web Server (IIS) Role.
  2. Install the .NET Framework 4.5 Features.
  3. Add the following Role Services:

    • Static Content

    • Default Document

    • ASP.NET

    • .NET Extensibility

    • ISAPI Extensions

    • ISAPI Filters

    • Windows Authentication (optional)

    • Request Filtering

    • IIS Management Console

  4. If necessary, install any available updates.
