Text Select

Allows you to select a paragraph.

After you have chosen your selection method, you will need to select an area of text to act as the ID string. The string that you choose should be one that makes this page unique from any other page that you will view in all host emulations configured in the database.

  1. Click the Select/Create Page button from the tools box while the ID string is selected. This will open the Pages dialog box.
  2. Type the name of the screen page in the Page Name text box. This name represents the current page on the Terminal Emulation screen and will hold all the configuration settings for this page. To edit an existing page, select it from the Pages list box, and click Save. This will allow you to edit both the ID Fields and Action Fields from their designated buttons.
  3. If you want to use the same page settings for every page, select Match Any Page.
    Note:

The Match Any Page check box cannot be used with screen scraping.

  4. Click Save when you have finished with the Pages dialog box. This will initiate the ID Fields dialog box.
  5. The ID Field screen appears with the location and value of the highlighted string. Click on Save. Any time that string appears on the screen in that location, OnBase will recognize the screen. Editing or Adding ID Fields for further information.
  6. After you have configured the ID string either highlight the cross-reference filed, or click Configure Action Fields. From the Action Fields dialog box, you will be able to open additional dialogs that allow you to configure keywords and dates to further set up cross-referencing for the Terminal Emulation screen.
    Note:

An ID String will need to be configured for each screen being used for either cross referencing or screen scraping.
