Here are the steps to configure Client Access to work with the OnBase Host Enabler:
-
Load Client Access software per IBM's installation guidelines
-
Copy the file, Winhook.dll1, into your OnBase directory or into OnBase directory.
-
Before attempting to use Client Access with OnBase, you must first enter at least part of the Client Access application's window title into the Client Access Window Title edit box that will appear when you select “Client Access (DDE)” as the Communication Link. (e.g. If the Client Access window title is “Session A – (24 x 80)”, entering “Session A” as the window title in OnBase will be sufficient.)
1 The Winhook.dll is used to monitor double-clicks
and keystrokes within the operating system. When one of those events is
detected, it gets the necessary information and passes them on to OnBase who then determines if the double-click or
keystroke action was done within Client Access. If it was, OnBase establishes a DDE connection with Client
Access, retrieves the information (such as the screen text to use in screen
scraping and cross-referencing), and closes the DDE connection. The
Winhook.dll is unloaded when the user chooses to disconnect from Client
Access from within OnBase.
