The following name/value pairs are used to configure a Remote object for remote initiation servers:

Name

Value

FriendlyName

Enter a name for the remote endpoint.

Port

Enter the TCP port used to listen for remote initiated connections. When a remote initiated connection to this endpoint is made, traffic is forwarded from the local endpoint through the connection.

KeepAliveTimeout

This setting sends network traffic to the configured endpoint at the configured interval if no other traffic is being sent over that endpoint. For example, if you set this setting to 5, and there is no activity over the port for 5 minutes, Message Engine will send a keep alive packet to the configured endoint every 5 minutes.

Note: It is recommended to set the value to 1 minute less than any configured firewall timeout.

Security

See Security.

Note:

The server remote endpoint must correspond to the client side initiation endpoint described in Configuring a Client Initiation Endpoint.
