As an alternative to manually creating coded value sets and adding coded values one at a time, you can use the IHE Coded Value Importer to create new sets and populate existing sets with coded values imported from an XML file.

Contact your first line of service for information on generating and formatting coded value import files.
To import coded values from an XML import file:

In the Configuration module, select Medical | IHE | Coded Value Sets. The IHE Coded Value Set Configuration dialog box is displayed.

Click the Import button. The IHE Coded Value Importer dialog box is displayed.

When a valid import file has been selected, the importable Code Types contained within it are listed in the IHE Coded Value Importer dialog box.
