Communication with other systems in the IHE community is accomplished through endpoint connections. This connection information must be configured in OnBase in order to send and receive community messages.

To configure community endpoints:

  1. In the Configuration module, select Medical | IHE | Communities. The IHE Communities dialog box is displayed.
  2. Select a community and click the Endpoints button.

The IHE Endpoint Configuration dialog box is displayed.

  3. Do one of the following:
    • To create a new endpoint, enter a unique name in the field provided and click Create.

    • To modify an existing endpoint, select it and click Settings.

    Note:

XDS communities have only one default endpoint named XDS Registry, because XDS messages such as the ITI-42 depend on communication with a Document Registry. No additional endpoints can be created for XDS communities.

The Endpoint Settings dialog box is displayed.

  4. In the Endpoint Address field, enter the URL of the endpoint you want to connect to. The address must start with either http:// or https://, and include a port number.
If the entered address begins with https://, the Transport Layer Security (TLS) Enabled option is automatically selected, and the Client Certificate Thumbprint field is made available.
  5. If you are connecting to a endpoint using TLS, enter the certificate thumbprint in the Client Certificate Thumbprint field. The value must be entered in hexadecimal characters (numbers 0-9 and letters a-f), and be 40 characters long.
  6. When the endpoint is properly configured, click Save.
