The UseINIFileConfiguration setting determines where a signature is placed on a document, while the AutoRedaction setting determines whether the changes made to a signature are automatically saved to a document.

Note:

The above-mentioned settings are functional when a user does not select a valid signature location when signing a document.

If signature location and auto-redaction settings are configured in Signature Administration in the OnBase Client, then these settings are applied when a user selects a signature location in the Signature Capture dialog box. When a signature location is not selected, the onbase32.ini settings are used.

In the onbase32.ini file, when UseINIFileConfiguration=1, OnBase uses one of the following AutoRedaction settings to redact a signature on an image file.

Setting

Description

AutoRedaction=0

When a user creates a signature for the first time for a Document Type, a message is displayed informing them that they can move and resize the signature, and that the signature's new location will be saved to the onbase32.ini file upon redaction. Thereafter, the signature is placed in the same location each time the user signs, but no redaction occurs.

AutoRedaction=1

When a user creates a signature for the first time for a Document Type, a message is displayed informing them that they can move and resize the signature, and that the signature's new location will be saved to the onbase32.ini file upon redaction. However, in this case, after the first time, the signature location is remembered and auto-redacted. Once redacted, this new location is saved and all subsequent calls to sign are redacted automatically.

When UseINIFileConfiguration=0, OnBase ignores the onbase32.ini settings. The signature position is not remembered and the signature is not auto-redacted.
