Image Masking is a convenient feature of OnBase that allows users to mask, or hide, pre-defined areas of image documents to conceal sensitive information from users who are not authorized to view it. Unlike redactions, Image Masking allows for the creation of masks on the original document without having to create a new document as a revision.

Administrators can configure image masks according to Document Type and specify the style of the mask as well as the page number and location on the document to be masked. They can also configure image masks to appear when specific Keyword Values exist.

Once configured, only users with sufficient privileges will be able to view unmasked documents. These permissions are set at the User Group level.
