Click Bar Codes on the Primary Document Type dialog box to display the Statement Type Bar Code Configuration dialog box. This dialog box allows you to configure a Postnet (POSTal Numeric Encoding Technique) Bar Code for mailing, and/or an OMR (Optical Mark Reading) Bar Code for sorting machines. These bar codes will be automatically placed on the primary and secondary Document Types during statement rendering, according to the selections made at the Statement Type Bar Code Configuration dialog box. OMR bar codes are also rendered according to the definitions preprogrammed in the workstation's OMR.dll file, or configured in the Configuration module. For more information about configuring OMR marks, see Configuring OMR Marks for Use with Image Statements.
By default, OnBase uses the AdvPNET font for generating bar codes. If the AdvPNET font is not present in the Windows font directory, OnBase searches for and uses the BC Postnet font.
For a statement type to attempt to use either of these bar codes, you must enter a location for the beginning (top left-most corner) of the bar code in the Vertical Position and Horizontal Position text boxes of the appropriate section.
If both of these text boxes remain at 0.00, the statement type will not attempt to print the bar code on the statement.
Next, select the Keyword Type from the Keyword Type list that will be used with each bar code. In the Postnet Bar Code section, the actual value of the keyword selected will be directly encoded in the bar code that is printed on the statement.
If you select the Enable Intelligent Mailer Bar Code Support check box, the USPS Intelligent Bar Code is enabled. In order for this to function properly, you must have the USPS4CB Truetype font installed. In addition, you must configure this font as a Named Font in OnBase and select it from the Font drop-down list under the Postnet Bar Code section.
In the OMR Bar Code section, the value of the keyword selected is sent to the workstation's OMR.dll for processing. The OMR.dll will determine what is contained in the OMR bar code, and how the bar code will appear on the rendered statement. If using a configured OMR Type rather than one hard-coded in a DLL file, select it in the OMR Type (In Place of DLL) drop-down. See Configuring OMR Marks for Use with Image Statements for more information about configuring OMR Types. Select a font from the Font drop-down if you are not using standard OMR marks.
If you are using a DLL file, leave the OMR Type (In Place of DLL) drop-down set to <<None>>.
