The user template feature is intended for use with Active Directory or LDAP Authentication. User templates automatically creates new users based on an existing user account that is configured for use as a user template. When a user is designated as a user template, all of the settings for that user are saved as a global template for automatically generated new user accounts. The user template is applied on an institutional basis. The template settings are then automatically applied to new users. For more information on creating institutional user accounts, see Configuring Users for Institutional Databases. For more information on Active Directory or LDAP Authentication, see the Identity and Access Management Services module reference guide.

  1. Select Utils | Institution Names. The Institution Configuration dialog box is displayed.
  2. Click User Template. The User Account Creation Template dialog box is displayed.
  3. Select a user from the User Account drop-down select list. Only the users belonging to the selected institution are displayed in the list.
  4. Select the Default To Copying User Groups option to copy the User Groups for new accounts from the user template account.
  5. Click Save. The User Account Creation Template dialog box is closed.
