Integration for Banner TEM requires specific Java files to complete the integration with OnBase:

  • Hyland.Integrations.Ellucian.jar

  • Ellucian.properties

  • Hyland.Types.jar

  • dom4j-1.6.1.jar

Note:

The exact dom4j*.jar file name is dependent on the version number of the Java archive it reflects.

The *.jar files must all be copied to the same folder as the other *.jar files on the server hosting the TEM application. The Ellucian.properties file must be located in Java CLASSPATH if it is not saved in the same directory as the Hyland.Integrations.Ellucian.jar file.

To complete the installation:

  1. Locate the required files in your source OnBase distribution files and copy them to the same folder as the other *.jar files on the server hosting the TEM application.
    • The Hyland.Integrations.Ellucian.jar and Ellucian.properties files are typically located in the .\apps\Ellucian Banner\TEM\ folder of your source distribution files.

    • The Hyland.Types.jar file is typically located in the .\java\Hyland.Types\ folder of your source distribution files.

    • The dom4j-1.6.1.jar file is typically located in the .\java\Hyland.Types\ folder of your source distribution files.

      Note:

The exact dom4j*.jar file name is dependent on the version number of the Java archive it reflects. Do not rename any of these files in any way. If the files are not copied to the correct location or the files are otherwise inaccessible, the integration will not function.

  2. Open the Ellucian.properties file in a plain-text editor.
  3. Update the URL=http\:// line to include the path to the service page of the OnBase Application server. For example, URL=http\://localhost/AppServer/Service.asmx.
    Note:

Do not modify the URL=http\:// prefix in any way. If the prefix is altered, the properties file cannot be read correctly by the Java files and the integration will not function.

  4. Update the Datasource= line to include the friendly name of the data source connection string used by OnBase. For example, Datasource=MyDBstring, where MyDBstring is the friendly name of the data source.
    Note:

Do not modify the Datasource= prefix in any way. If the prefix is altered, the properties file cannot be read correctly by the Java files and the integration will not function.

  5. Save and close the properties file.
    Note:

The Ellucian.properties file must be located in Java CLASSPATH if it is not saved in the same directory as the Hyland.Integrations.Ellucian.jar file.
