Note: To configure image documents with overlays to display in
their native format, you must be on a version of Epic August 2019 or later.
By default, the Image Retrieval API integration always converts any document containing an overlay (for example, an appended note) to a TIFF image for viewing. However, for single-page image documents containing an overlay, an external system key parameter can be configured to override the conversion to a TIFF image and instead, retrieve the document in its native format without the overlay displayed in Epic.
Note: The external system key parameter described in the following
procedure applies only to single-page image documents with overlays, not multi-page
image documents with overlays as these are always converted to a TIFF image. For
more information on the default behavior of retrieving documents using the Image
