Geocoding is the process of converting an address into a set of latitude and longitude coordinates. The converted coordinates can be used to map a document to the correct location within a specified map viewer (such as Google Maps or ESRI, or OnBase Unity Client or Web Client mapping).
As of OnBase Foundation 22.1, using the default Esri geocoders with the OnBase Feature Layers for Esri REST API is no longer supported. Documents that were geocoded by these geocoders in a previous version can still be displayed using OnBase Feature Layers for Esri REST API, but if any of the address Keyword Values of those document are updated, the document will no longer be displayed on the map.
OnBase determines a document's geolocation information using the configuration specified from the Geolocation button in the OnBase Configuration module. See the Configuring Geolocation section for more information on the Geolocation button.
