To configure layer mappings, follow these steps:

  1. To open the GIS Configuration Utility, double-click the HylandGISConfiguration executable file. The OnBase Login dialog box is displayed.
  2. Enter your logon credentials and click Login. The GIS Configuration window is displayed.
  3. Change the value in the Maximum Features Queried field to alter the number of features users can select from the web application. If users select more than the specified number of features, an error message is displayed and the Document Search Results list is not populated with results.
  4. Select the Persist Filters in Browser option to allow a user's configured Keyword Filters to be saved and reapplied after closing the browser and returning to the web mapping application. When this option is not selected, users must reconfigure any desired Keyword Filters every time they reopen the web mapping application.
  5. Populate your Available map layers section with map layers by performing one of the following actions:
    • Select the ArcGIS Services button from the ribbon. The Enter Service URL dialog box is displayed.

Fill out the available options as required. Each option is described in the table below.

      Option

      Description

      Enter Service URL

Enter the URL of your ArcGIS map server in this field.

      Use Proxy

Select this option to use a proxy page to connect to the specified map server.

Proxy Url: enter the URL of the proxy page to use to connect to the ArcGIS map server.

Click OK. The Available map layers list is populated with data from your configured map server.

    • Select the Layer Data File button from the ribbon. The Add Layers dialog box is displayed.

Click Open and browse to the location of a map layer data file. Then click OK. The Available map layers list is populated with map layers from your map layer data file.

Note: You can import map layer data files that use XML or JSON data. JSON map layer data can be generated directly from Esri feature layer output. XML map layer data can be generated by exporting map layer data from another product, such as the legacy Integration for ArcGIS Desktop module.
    Tip:

You can select New at any time to start over and create another new configuration. All configured layers will be removed, but you will not have to reload map data you are currently using.

  6. Select the Layer Configuration drop-down, then click the Layer button from the ribbon. The Configure Layer dialog box is displayed.
  7. Select a layer and click OK. The selected layer will be added to the Layer Configuration list. Repeat this step as many times as need to configure all required map layers.
    Tip:

Make sure that none of your base map layers have the same name as any of your configured feature layers. If your base map has a layer that uses the same name as one of your configure feature layers, you must rename the base map layer.

  8. Configure all desired static link attributes for each map layer, then add desired Document Type and Keyword Type mappings. See the following sections for more information.
    CAUTION:

If your configuration is not saved using the Save menu option before you close the configuration or exit the GIS Configuration Utility, your changes will be lost.
