When a Document Type is mapped to a layer and is configured for import, documents that are imported into OnBase through the web mapping application using the configured Document Type will be dynamically linked to the selected map layer based on the document's Keyword Values. Documents that are imported into OnBase using other methods (i.e., DIP, scanning, etc.) will also be linked to map features, as long as the documents are indexed with Keyword Values that match map feature attributes.
To map a Document Type to a configured layer, follow these steps:
-
Select a layer, then open the Layer Configuration Options drop-down list and select the
Document Type option. The Document Type dialog box is displayed.
- Select a Document Type Group. The Document Type list will be populated with all available Document Types.
- Select a Document Type.
-
Click the Range option if you want to configure a range based Keyword Type mapping. Documents whose Keyword Type Values fall within the specified range will be mapped to the selected attribute.
Note:
Range based Keyword Type mappings can only be configured for layers that have a numeric based attribute and Document Types that have at least two numeric Keyword Types that share a data type (for example, Numeric (Up to 9 Digits) or Floating Point).
For example:The Hyland County Transit system creates a Document Type to store project documents for road projects. This Document Type contains 2 Keyword Types that describe the stretch of road affected by the project: Mile Marker (Low) and Mile Marker (High). They then configure a range based Keyword Type mapping that assigns Mile Marker (Low) as the Start Range Keyword Type and Mile Marker (High) as the End Range Keyword Type (both Keyword Types are assigned to the Layer Attribute that stores mile markers in their web mapping application). This will allow Integration for Esri users to retrieve documents related to any projects that fall within an area by selecting that area on their web mapping application.Note:The Import option is disabled for Document Types configured for range based Keyword Type mapping.
The Keyword Type Range Mapping dialog box is displayed. -
Specify the Start Range by:
-
Selecting a Keyword Type that will be used to determine the starting value for the range from the Keyword Type drop-down list. Only Keyword Types configured as Floating Point or Numeric are available for selection.
-
Selecting a layer attribute from the Layer Attribute drop-down list. Only attributes configured as esriFieldTypeDouble, esriFieldTypeSingle, esriFieldTypeInteger, or esriFieldTypeSmallInteger are available for selection.
-
-
Specify the End Range by:
-
Selecting a Keyword Type that will be used to determine the ending value for the range from the Keyword Type drop-down list. Only Keyword Types configured as Floating Point or Numeric are available for selection.
-
Selecting a layer attribute from the End Range drop-down list. Only attributes configured as esriFieldTypeDouble, esriFieldTypeSingle, esriFieldTypeInteger, or esriFieldTypeSmallInteger are available for selection.
-
-
Select the decimal place to which any floating point values should be rounded from the Rounding drop-down list.
Note:
This option is only enabled if the specified Keyword Types are configured as a Floating Point Keyword Type.
-
If you want to configure non range based Keyword Type mappings, select a Keyword Type and a Layer Attribute, then select Add. The selected Keyword Type will be mapped to the selected Layer Attribute.
Note:
Web mapping applications built for use with the Integration for Esri do not support advanced keyword functionality for import and retrieval Keyword Types, such as AutoFill Keyword Sets, data sets, and Multi-Instance Keyword Type Groups.
Note:If you want to configure both range based and non range based Keyword Type Mappings for the selected Document Type, you must configure all range based Keyword Type Mappings before configuring non range based Keyword Type mappings. See step 4 for more information on configuring range based Keyword Type Mappings.
-
Select the Import check box to allow documents to be imported into this Document Type from the web mapping application.
Note:
The Import option is disabled for Document Types configured for range based Keyword Type mapping.
- Select the Retrieve check box to allow documents of this Document Type to be retrieved from the web mapping application.
- Select OK. The configured Document Type is added to the selected layer. You are prompted with a message asking whether or not you want to continue adding Document Type mappings.
- Click Yes to add another Document Type mapping, or click No to stop configuring Document Type mappings.
