Depending on your configuration, the Enter Observations button may be enabled during indexing to allow you to enter and associate observation data with the current document.
To enter observation data and associate it with the current document:
-
From the Indexing dialog box, click the Enter Observations button.
-
Once you click this button, the Observations dialog box is displayed.
Note:
The Observations dialog box can be moved and resized, and it remains on top when the focus is shifted to another window. This allows you to easily enter observation data in conjunction with scrolling and changing the view of the currently-displayed document.
-
From the View drop-down list, select the appropriate view.
Tip:
Once the appropriate view has been selected, you can use the Tab key to shift the focus between the drop-down lists, the Value fields in the table, and the buttons at the bottom of the dialog box. You can also use the arrow keys to cycle between options in the drop-down lists, as well as the Enter key to make or confirm selections.
- From the Lab drop-down list, select the appropriate lab facility. If the appropriate lab facility is not available in the list, you can manually enter the appropriate name in the Lab field.
-
Click on a row in the table to set the input focus to the Value field for that row, and then enter the appropriate observation value.
Note:
Depending on the configuration of your Centricity database, you can only enter values of the appropriate data type (e.g., numeric values for numeric terms, alphanumeric values for alphanumeric terms, etc.).
- Repeat step 5 for each row of the table.
- Repeat steps 3 to 6 for each view and lab facility combination.
-
When finished entering observation data, click Save.
Note:
The observation data information is initially stored in the OnBase database. When the batch is processed for LinkLogic, this information is written to the .HR file that is generated for the batch.
