In some cases, you may want Guidewire to acknowledge the existence of a document that is not stored in OnBase or Guidewire (for example, a document that is legally prohibited from being digitized).

To indicate the existence of a document:

  1. Open a claim in Guidewire ClaimCenter.
  2. Click Actions | Indicate existence of a document. The New Document panel is displayed.
  3. Complete the following fields:

    Field

    Description

    Name

    Enter a name for the document. This is a required field.

    Description

    Enter a description for the document.

    Related To

    Select the Guidewire object to which the document is related.

    Document Type

    Select the OnBase Document Type associated with the document. This is a required field.

    Subtype

    Select the document subtype associated with the document. This is a required field.

  4. Complete any other fields as needed for your business process.
  5. Click Update. You will be returned to the claim's Summary page.
