If multiple contacts have been flagged as potential duplicate contacts, you can specify which related OnBase documents are retained when you merge the contacts.
Depending on your configuration, you may be able to merge documents only for certain types of contacts. See your system administrator or solution provider for more information.
To merge contacts that have related OnBase documents:
- Click Merge Contacts in the Sidebar in Guidewire ContactManager. The Potential Duplicate Contacts page is displayed.
- Use the search tools to display potential duplicate contacts in the Search Results list.
- Click Review for the set of duplicate contacts that you want to review and merge. The Review Contacts for Merging page is displayed.
- Click the Documents tab. A list of all of the documents related to the contacts being merged is displayed.
- Select the check box in the Include column for each document you want to include in the updated, merged contact. Deselect the check box to exclude the document from the merge and discard it.
- Review the information on all the other tabs as needed for your business process.
- Click Merge to merge the contacts or Merge Then Edit to merge the contacts and then edit the merged contact. The contacts are merged, and the documented you selected are included in the merged contact.
