In certain scenarios, you might prefer to forgo the Keyword suggestions made by Interactive Data Capture 's indexing features (e.g., certain values do not display consistently on documents or are known to have poor OCR quality). To improve indexing efficiency and minimize the chance of adding erroneous data as Keywords, you can disable Interactive Data Capture 's indexing features for the entire workstation or for specific Keyword Types at the Document Type level.
It is considered a best practice to disable Interactive Data Capture 's indexing features for Keyword Types with select lists when using Unity Forms for indexing.
To disable Interactive Data Capture processing for the entire workstation, you must edit the Enabled attribute of the InteractiveDataCaptureSettings sub-element in the Data Capture Server configuration file. For more information, see the Installation chapter of the Data Capture Sever Deployment Guide.
Unless otherwise noted, it is considered a best practice to only disable Interactive Data Capture 's indexing features for Keyword Types that will not undergo ICAP processing. If you disable these features for Keyword Types that will undergo ICAP processing, learning cannot occur for these Keyword Types, and the batch will always be routed to the Index in Progress batch status queue.
