The option selected here determines how the processing workstation accesses files for processing.
Select one of the following:
Download Protocol Option |
Description |
---|---|
No Download |
Files are not downloaded from another source before processing, they are accessible directly from the workstation's local storage, LAN, or WAN. This option is selected by default. Note:
When using FTP with the No Download option, preprocessors cannot be used unless they are created with the ability to access files via FTP. |
FTP Download |
Files are downloaded from a server using File Transfer Protocol and saved locally before they are processed. Note:
Secure File Transfer Protocol (SFTP) is not supported for use with Keyword Update. The option of using FTP or a socket connection is not practical for retrieving large reports because the whole file will be retrieved temporarily to the Client workstation. After selecting FTP Download, you must also configure the following:
See FTP Download Considerations for more information. |
Socket Download |
TCP/IP sockets can be used if it is the only way to capture the Keyword Update data. Select the Socket Download option in specific instances to allow a connection that will download information to your computer. Enter the specification number of the socket download connection in the Socket Number text box. If you select Socket Direct, the information will be streamed directly to your computer. Note:
Before processing files, the files must be accessible from the workstation. |
