Active Directory users and groups are mapped to OnBase User Groups. OnBase user rights are granted to the user based on the rights granted to the OnBase User Groups that the user's account or Active Directory group is mapped to.

An Active Directory user or group can be mapped to one or more OnBase User Groups, and OnBase User Groups can be mapped to one or more Active Directory groups or users.

Active Directory users or groups can also be excluded from specific OnBase User Groups, or from authenticating in OnBase altogether.

To map an Active Directory user or group to an OnBase User Group, use drag-and-drop mouse functionality:

  1. Select a user or group in the Configured Active Directory Domains pane of the Active Directory - Enhanced dialog box and hold down the left mouse button.
    Note:

Foreign Security Principals do not appear in the Configured Active Directory Domains pane.

  2. Drag the selected user or group into the OnBase Groups pane (upper right) and release the mouse button when the selected object is over the OnBase User Group you are mapping it to.
  3. Click Apply to save the configuration changes and continue working in the Active Directory - Enhanced dialog box, or click OK to save the configuration changes and close the Active Directory - Enhanced dialog box.
    Tip:

To expand all OnBase user groups, right-click in the OnBase Groups list and select Expand All. To collapse all OnBase user groups, right-click in the OnBase Groups list and select Collapse All.
