The following name/value pairs are used to configure a InitiateWith object for remote initiation clients:

Name

Value

FriendlyName

Enter a name for the initiation endpoint.

Port

Enter the TCP port used to connect to the initiation endpoint. This must be the same port on which the remote initiation server is listening for remote connections.

KeepAliveTimeout

This setting sends network traffic to the configured endpoint at the configured interval if no other traffic is being sent over that endpoint. For example, if you set this setting to 5, and there is no activity over the port for 5 minutes, Message Engine will send a keep alive packet to the configured endoint every 5 minutes.

Note: It is recommended to set the value to 1 minute less than any configured firewall timeout.

Host

Enter the DNS name or IP address of the remote initiation server from which the client forwards traffic.

Security

See Security.

Note:

The client initiation endpoint must correspond to the server side remote endpoint described in Configuring a Server Remote Endpoint.
