During an Incremental Parallel Upgrade, making major configuration changes such as adding new functionality or processes introduces more risk since multiple versions of the software are in use at once.

CAUTION:

Some enhancements or changes that are introduced to existing functionality in the new version of OnBase may not be backward-compatible when accessed on an older version client. Depending on the complexity of the OnBase solution, implementing these features in a parallel upgrade environment could cause unexpected behavior to occur for users on an older client version.

It is strongly recommended to minimize minor configuration changes, and to only implement major configuration changes once the upgrade is complete. Review the module reference guides for the new version of OnBase for any upgrade considerations you may need to account for during an upgrade.
