An IPUP helps to reduce pressure during an upgrade. Instead of racing against the clock at odd hours to complete the work, the system can be prepared during normal business hours for the upgrade. If a problem occurs, instead of restoring and reconfiguring the entire system, you can still revert to the legacy version of the software. Reverting to the previous version can often happen without intervention from the support staff, making the immediate availability of support no longer a requirement for a successful upgrade.
