In an Incremental Parallel Upgrade, installing a parallel set of Application and Web Servers is critical for supporting clients and other modules. An IPUP supports scaling Application Server and Web Server implementations for high availability and high performance.
In general, Core applications require the Application Server and Web Server to be upgraded at the same time. OnBase Clients that connect to an Application Server must be on the same version as the Application Server and the Web Server.
The installer executables for the Application and Web Servers do not support installing multiple instances or versions of the same application on the same machine.
Updated versions of Microsoft .NET Framework may be required for some upgrades. These can also be installed in parallel as long as the upgrade version is installed on a separate server from the current version.
