Distributed Disk Services (DDS) must be upgraded at the same time as the database. Older versions of OnBase can work with a newer version of DDS, but a newer version of OnBase cannot connect to an older version of DDS. The DDS server(s) must be upgraded along with the database, but older client software will still be able to connect to the new version.
It is possible to use DDS for some modules and not others in the same solution, depending on the security context of the running application.
For more information, see the Distributed Disk Services module reference guide.
