The search functionality of this module is built into the Web Client, OnBase Client, and Unity Client. These modules perform an IDOL Full-Text search using the Application Server. In order to utilize IDOL Full-Text search in one of these Clients, the Client version must match the Application Server version. In order to view paginated formats, the Application Server requires the OnBase Data Capture Server which must also be on the same version.
The Hyland Full Text Indexing Service (IDOL) is a standalone service that handles document indexing events into IDOL. The Hyland Full Text Indexing Service (IDOL) requires a Hyland Data Capture Server to index paginated file formats. These two services must be on the same version. It is possible to have different versions of the Hyland Data Capture Server (one for the Application Server and another for indexing) as long as they are installed on different servers.
Beginning in OnBase Foundation EP5, the Full-Text Indexing Server for Autonomy IDOL module is no longer supported and has been removed from the OnBase product suite. If you are using the Full-Text Indexing Server for Autonomy IDOL module and upgrading to OnBase Foundation EP5, you will be required to use the Full-Text Search module to fulfill your needs.
