WorkView connects to the OnBase Application Server. Supporting WorkView during an IPUP requires a parallel server with the new Application Server version deployed. Legacy version clients must point to an Application Server running the previous software version, and the newly deployed client versions must point to an Application Server running the current software version.

Beginning in OnBase 14, WorkView configuration is performed in OnBase Studio along with Workflow.

As of OnBase 14, the WorkView database schema is included with the main OnBase database schema. If you are upgrading from a version of OnBase previous to 14, WorkView users and the Application Servers they connect to must be upgraded as soon as the database upgrade has been performed. This is because if all users are WorkView users, there is no way to gradually and methodically roll out OnBase Clients across the user base.

Even if this prevents a full-scale IPUP, an administrator may still take advantage of other IPUP methodology such as incremental and parallel support for other servers. All WorkView users must still be upgraded concurrently.
