In parallel upgrades, OnBase processing servers are handled similarly to end-user client workstations. The OnBase Client is installed on each processing server and launched either as a logged in user or as a Windows service. Only one version should be running on a single server at a time.
If the processing server must connect to an Application Server (for example, a DIP that adds documents to a Core-based Workflow), the processing server and the Application Server it connects to must be on matching versions.
After the OnBase database upgrade, processing servers should be upgraded one at a time to the new software version. The new version is installed in parallel to the legacy version. For a period of time, monitor import jobs for issues. If issues are discovered, the new version of the OnBase Client can be stopped, and the previous version OnBase Client can be started.
