This chapter lists additional considerations to note when upgrading to OnBase 16 from a previous version. Prior reading of the previous chapters in this document is assumed.

If you are upgrading from OnBase 15 to OnBase 16, or if this is the first parallel upgrade you are performing, note that all of the considerations from parts 2 and 3 remain important and relevant in addition to part 4.

Hyland has a corporate level cross-departmental Upgrades Committee whose goal is to make OnBase easier to upgrade, and to make Incremental Parallel Upgrades become a smoother process as new software is developed. Many considerations for OnBase 16 are geared towards this goal of easier upgrades and simplified IPUPs.

Security is always a challenge in the marketplace. To this end, extra measures have been taken to add security-related enhancements. Enhancements that may have an impact on OnBase upgrades under certain conditions will also be considered for inclusion in the software.
