In OnBase 17, deprecated named-user licenses can be unassigned from users. Deprecated licenses from previous versions of OnBase will remain assigned to a user upon upgrading to OnBase 17. This allows users in a mixed-version IPUP scenario to continue to access the licensed functionality in the older version of OnBase. If the licensed functionality is no longer available or has been deprecated in 17, these licenses can be removed.

Deprecated licenses are displayed alongside a user's named-user licenses in the User Settings dialog box in the Configuration module. After unassigning the deprecated license and saving your changes, that license cannot be reassigned.

During an IPUP, you should not unassign deprecated named-user licenses until the upgrade to OnBase 17 is complete. Removing a deprecated named user license could result in users being unable to access functionality in a previous version of OnBase.
