If you are using the Office Business Application for 2019 with the Web Client, you must have the Web Server installed. See the Web Server module reference guide for current Web Server requirements.

If you are using the Web Client and you want Office documents to open in the Office Business Application for 2019 and be automatically logged on to an OnBase session, you must do the following:

  • Properly install Hyland Desktop Host. See the section on Hyland Desktop Host installation in the Web Server module reference guide for more information.

    Note:

If Desktop Host is not installed, Office documents download to the default location for your web browser.

  • Enable the endpoints:Sesame setting in the Application Server web.config file by entering true for the value attribute. Enabling this setting allows the Office Business Application for 2019 Desktop Host Service to communicate with the Application Server and open Microsoft Office documents from OnBase.

  • Enable the owin:AutomaticAppStartup setting in the Application Server web.config file by entering true for the value attribute.

  • Set the AppServerOrigin to the URL path to the Application Server. For a typical installation, the path is https://localhost/AppServer, where localhost is the machine name of the Application Server.

The following are considerations when using Office Business Application for 2019 with the OnBase Web Client:

  • Prior to using the OnBase Web Client, the Office Business Application for 2019 components must be registered for each application where the Office Business Application for 2019 is installed. The components are registered upon opening each appropriate application (Word, Excel, or PowerPoint) after installation is complete.

  • The Office Business Application for 2019 does not support macOS as a desktop operating system when using Office Business Application for 2019 with the Web Client.
