While viewing a patient record, you can add a photo to a specific patient encounter. To add a photo to a patient encounter, do the following:

  1. While viewing a patient record, tap the add (+) icon.
  2. Select Add Photo.

    The Encounters list is displayed:

    Encounters are listed in chronological order by the Admit Date with the most recent encounters displayed first.

  3. Select the encounter to which the photo should be added and tap Next.

    A list of available Media Types is displayed. The Media Types represent the available OnBase Document Types to which you can upload.

  4. Tap a Media Type to select it.
  5. Tap Done.
    Note:

    You may be prompted to allow permission for the app to access the device camera. This permission is required to add photos.

    The camera viewfinder is displayed. The following controls are available in the camera viewfinder:

    • To zoom in or zoom out, pinch your fingers together or apart on the screen.

    • To switch between the front and rear camera, tap the following icon:

    • To cancel taking a photo, tap Cancel.

  6. Aim the camera viewfinder and then tap the shutter button to take a photo.
    • To use this photo, tap Use Photo.

    • To retake the photo, tap Retake.

    After making your selection, you are taken to the photo upload screen. Each photo you take is added to the upload screen as a thumbnail. Tap an individual thumbnail to display the photo in a full-screen view.

  7. To take additional photos, tap the add (+) icon.
    Note:

    A maximum of eight (8) photos can be uploaded at a time.
