The PDF Input Filter module works in conjunction with the COLD/ERM module to process, index, and store PDF documents.

The PDF Input Filter processor takes one large import file composed of many PDF documents and parses them into individual document files. The method of identifying each document in the import file is defined through the configuration of a PDF Input Process Format. The PDF Input Process Format parses the import file line by line, determines the individual documents in the file, and translates the data into PDF documents with identifiable Keyword Values. Upon import, these documents can remain as PDFs or they can be converted to image documents to take full advantage of the OnBase internal document viewer.

You can create as many PDF Input Process Formats as are necessary for your business needs. Each configured PDF Input Process Format is specific to one type of import file. This Process Format defines the location of the import file and the Keyword Types to be identified on each document.

PDF Input Filter efficiently processes and stores PDFs that would normally be stored on a shared network location. PDF Input Filter processing results in faster storage and quicker retrieval of information stored in your PDF documents.
