The Prompt for Emergency Access Reason setting applies only to OnBase Patient Window. This setting facilitates auditing by requiring users to specify the reason they are requesting emergency access to documents.
Select the Prompt for Emergency Access Reason setting if users who request emergency access must specify an access reason before OnBase Patient Window displays the restricted documents. If the Prompt for Emergency Access Reason setting is not selected, users who request emergency access to documents are not prompted to provide a reason for the request.
If you select Prompt for Emergency Access Reason, ensure one or more of the following options are configured:

To allow users to choose from a list of configured access reasons, see Configuring Access Reasons.

To allow users to select Other as an access reason, ensure ShowOtherReasonInEmergencyAccessDialog is set to true in the Patient Window web.config file. This setting is true by default. If a user selects the Other access reason, the user is required to provide additional information in the Other Reason field.

To allow users to enter information in the Other Reason field regardless of the selected access reason, set OtherReasonTextBoxAlwaysAvailableInEmergencyAccessDialog to true in the Patient Window web.config file. This setting is false by default, and the Other Reason field is available only when a user selects the Other access reason.
