Repositories specify how records are categorized and handled. Many repositories can be configured to accommodate your specific needs.

To create and configure a repository for physical records:

  1. In the Configuration module, select Document | Physical Record Management | Repositories. The Physical Record Repository dialog box is displayed.
  2. Enter the name of the repository in the text box.
  3. Click Create. The Repository Configuration for: [repository name] dialog box is displayed.
  4. Enter the appropriate information and select the appropriate settings for the repository. For more information see Repository Configuration Options.
  5. Click Save.

    Next, you must specify the location(s) that you want available for the repository. To do this:

  6. Select the repository and click Record Locations. The Physical Record Location Configuration - [repository name] dialog box is displayed.
  7. Select the appropriate location.
  8. Click Add>>.
  9. Repeat steps 2 and 3 for each location you want to add.
  10. Click Save.
