Before installing Public Access, you must:

  1. Install a supported database on your database server.
  2. Install the OnBase Application Server. For installation information, see the Application Server module reference guide.
    Note:

The user account running the Application Server process should not have permissions to write files to the /bin directory or any location containing .dll files loadable by the Application Server.

  3. Install the following on the server hosting Public Access:
    • A supported server operating system. (See the Web Server module reference guide for supported operating systems.)

    • A supported version of Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager (7.5 or later).

    • A supported version of the Microsoft .NET Framework (4.6 or later).

    Note:

In order for .NET Framework to function properly, it must be installed on the server after IIS is installed. If .NET Framework has been installed first, it must be reinstalled after IIS is installed. Certain components of .NET Framework can only be registered when an IIS installation is present.
