If Public Access is set up to perform keyword-based searches (a Custom Query or Folder search), you can find documents by the Keyword Values they are indexed with.

To perform keyword-based searches to retrieve public documents:

  1. If necessary, select the search to conduct from the Search Type drop-down list. The search panel displays any available instructions for the query and fields for each Keyword Type available to search on.
  2. In the fields provided, enter values for the documents you want to be returned by the search.
    • The use of * and ? as wildcard operators is permitted.

    • To run an unrestricted search, leave the fields blank.

    • To clear entered text from all fields, click the Reset button.

    • Individual keyword fields can be designated as required, in which case a message is displayed informing you that the search cannot be executed until a value has been entered in the required field.

  3. Click the Search button to execute the search. Any documents that meet your search criteria are displayed in the results list. See Viewing Documents for more information on working with documents returned by a keyword-based search.
