Files stored in the Cache can be manually purged. Manually purging the Cache is performed in Platter Management.

To manually purge the Cache:

  1. In the Admin | Platter Management window, click on the Disk Group Replication queue in the right pane of the window.
  2. In the left pane of the Platter Management window, double-click the Cache Status queue.
  3. In the Cache Status queue, click on a Cache from the list to select it, and then right-click to access the menu.
  4. Click Purge. The Purge Cache dialog is displayed.
  5. In the Purge Type drop-down list, select the type of purge:
    • Purge All- If this option is selected, all files in the Cache will be purged.

    • Purge to Minimum- If this option is selected, the Cache will be purged to its configured minimum size.

    • Purge to Size- If this option is selected, the Cache will be purged to a specific size. If Purge to Size is selected, enter a value in the Target Size field, and select a unit from the drop-down list.

      Note:

      When purging the cache down to a configured size, the actual size will be as close as possible to the configured size based on the sizes of the files in the cache available for purging.

  6. When finished, click Purge to purge the Cache.
    Click Cancel to close the dialog with out purging any files.
