When you add a primary data column or access its settings, the Primary Data in Record Group dialog box is displayed:

Do one of the following:

Select Data Configuration if the data occurs in the same location within each record group.

Select Tag Data Configuration if the data occurs in the same location relative to a specific word or phrase in the mined document.

If you selected Data Configuration from the Primary Data dialog box, enter the following settings:

Type the line where the data occurs within the record group. The first line of the record group is line 1.
Column
Type the column where the data begins. The first column on the page is column 1.
Width
Type the number of columns that the data spans. This value should equal the maximum number of characters that a data value may contain.

Type the alphanumeric characters that compose the tag string.

Line
Type the line where the data occurs (relative to the tag string). The line containing the tag string is line 0.
Column
Type the column where the data begins (relative to the tag string). The last column in the tag string is column 0, and the first column after the tag string is column 1.
Width
Type the number of columns that the data spans. This value should equal the maximum number of characters that a data value may contain.

Complete the following Primary Data Options. These options indicate how the process should look for occurrences of primary data.

Data occurs on every line
Select this option if primary data occurs on every line in the record group.
Data occurs for number of lines
Select this option if each record group has a specific number of lines containing primary data, and these lines are followed by several lines of irrelevant data.
Specify the number of lines containing primary data in the field provided. The default value is 0, which has the same effect as selecting the Data occurs on every line option.

If the number of lines containing primary data varies per record group, leave the value at 0. The process will check each line for primary data.

If each record group has a specific number of lines containing primary data, enter the number of lines in the field provided. Refer to the Example for "Data occurs for number of lines".
Do not create records after blank
Select this option if the process should stop creating records for a record group upon encountering a blank line.
For example, if each record group ends with a blank line and a footer, but the footer should not be used to create a record, then this option should be selected.
