Each area contains one or more record groups. A record group is a collection of related records, where each record corresponds to a single row in the generated output file. A record group may contain one or more lines on a page. For example, in an AR aging report, a record group may be the contact information and outstanding invoices for a single customer.

In OnBase Configuration, you must define how Report Mining identifies record groups.:

Tip:

Refer to different document samples when configuring the record group. Make sure the record group configuration accommodates any differences within the pages being processed.

From the Report Mining dialog box, select the Report Mining process.
Click Data Config. The Report Mining Column and Data Configuration dialog box is displayed.
Select a Document Type from the Document Types drop-down list.
Click Record Setup from Report Mining Column and Data Configuration.

The Record Configuration dialog box is displayed.
Select whether the Beginning of a Record Group is non-tagged or tagged.
- Select Non-Tagged if the record group starts on the same line relative to the start of the area.
- Select Tagged if the record group is identified by a label or string of text. Use this option if the location of the record group may vary within the defined area.

Do one of the following:

If you selected Non-Tagged, define the following Beginning of a Record Group settings:

Option	Description
First Record Line (In Area)	The line where Report Mining should start looking for the record group (relative to the Beginning of an Area, not the beginning of the page). For example, if a record group begins on the same line as the beginning of an area, the line value is 1.
Height	The number of rows included in the record group. For example, if the Line value is 3 and the Height value is 4, then the record group starts at the third line of the area and stops at the seventh.

First Record Line (In Area)

The line where Report Mining should start looking for the record group (relative to the Beginning of an Area, not the beginning of the page).

For example, if a record group begins on the same line as the beginning of an area, the line value is 1.

Height

The number of rows included in the record group.

For example, if the Line value is 3 and the Height value is 4, then the record group starts at the third line of the area and stops at the seventh.

If you selected Tagged, define the following Beginning of a Record Group settings:

Option	Description
Tag String	The alphanumeric characters used to find the start of a record group. For example, if Customer is the tag string, the process will treat each instance of the text Customer as the start of a new record group. Note: Tag strings are case-sensitive. They can include space characters, but they cannot begin or end with space characters.
Column	The column where Report Mining should start looking for the tag string (relative to the left side of the configured area).
Width	The number of columns within which Report Mining should look for the tag string (relative to the specified Column value). For example, if the Column is 6 and the Width is 18, then the process will start searching at column 6 and stop searching at column 24.

For example, if Customer is the tag string, the process will treat each instance of the text Customer as the start of a new record group.

Note:

Tag strings are case-sensitive. They can include space characters, but they cannot begin or end with space characters.

Column

The column where Report Mining should start looking for the tag string (relative to the left side of the configured area).

Width

The number of columns within which Report Mining should look for the tag string (relative to the specified Column value).

For example, if the Column is 6 and the Width is 18, then the process will start searching at column 6 and stop searching at column 24.

Select Form Feed Resets Record Group to reset the Record Group when a form feed character is encountered. Deselect this option to ignore form feed characters. Resetting the Record Group at form feeds can be helpful when there is no clear end to an area and the pages are different lengths.
Select Skip Blank Lines during Record Processing to ignore blank lines between Record Groups. Deselect this option to include blank lines. Ignoring blank lines between Record Groups can allow for a more accurate mining of data that isn't structured in a consistent way with the presence of whitespace (CR/LF).
Click Save.
Continue to Column Configuration.
