The Encrypted Disk Groups module ensures that documents are only viewed through an OnBase client. When documents are saved to an encrypted Disk Group, those documents are encrypted using AES-128 or AES-256 encryption. After encryption, those documents can no longer be viewed without an OnBase client. This means that if an attacker gains access to your network and the location of your Disk Groups, documents stored in an encrypted Disk Group cannot be viewed simply by opening them in another application.

CAUTION:

Disk Group encryption can only be reversed through a resource- and time-intensive process. Some OnBase modules are not supported for use with Encrypted Disk Groups. Be sure to engage your first line of support before adding this feature to an existing solution.
