Command line switches can be applied to the OnBase Client and Configuration module executables for a variety of reason, but typically to expose additional functionality not intended for all users. Some command line switches may expose sensitive user information, such as authentication credentials. Leaving switches enabled on the OnBase Client and Configuration modules could allow for unintended access to restricted features, or to OnBase itself.

For these reasons, the use of command line switches must be carefully monitored and maintained. In general, the use of command line switches is not recommended, except to enable specific and limited business processes. In most cases, it is recommended to only use command line switches temporarily for the specific configuration or troubleshooting needs they expose.
