Upgrading your OnBase system can help protect you from known or discovered vulnerabilities in the software. Hyland Software routinely addresses security, scalability, and other types of issues that are important to OnBase users in its ongoing development efforts. Hyland Software strongly recommends that its customers upgrade to the latest version of OnBase at least once every year.

As with all software, any upgrades should be tested first to ensure they do not effect the day-to-day operations of your organization. OnBase is designed to allow for a full test environment that is an exact mirror of the production environment, or for a phased roll-outs of upgrades using the Incremental Parallel Upgrade Process (IPUP). Both methods allow for an evaluation of changes as they are implemented so you can understand the impact they may have on your environment.
