To sign a document in the Web Client:

  1. Retrieve and open the image document you want to sign.
  2. Right-click and select Sign with Signature Pad | Capture Signature.
    Note:

When another user has a lock on the document or when a document is read-only, Capture Signature is disabled.

The Signature Capture dialog box is displayed:

  3. Select Begin Capture to sign. If the signature is acceptable, continue to the next step. If the signature is not acceptable, click Clear Signature to remove it and re-sign the signature pad.
  4. Select Apply signature to all pages to apply this signature to all pages in the document. Depending on your configuration of the selected signature location, this option may be automatically selected.
  5. Depending on your configuration, locations may be available in the right pane of the Signature Capture dialog box. Each location indicates an area on the image document where a signature captured with the signature pad is placed. Select a location, if applicable. To cancel selection of a location, click Clear Location.
    Note:

Selecting Apply signature to all pages overrides any configured signature location page options.

  6. Click Accept to accept the signature and return to the document.
  7. Before saving the signature, you can perform the following actions.
    • To reposition the signature, select the signature and then drag it.

    • To resize the signature, select the blue dot positioned next to the signature and then drag it.

  8. Repeat this process to add additional signatures to the document. To remove a signature, right-click the signature and select Delete.
    CAUTION:

If a signature is not in the location you expect, do not save the document until the location has been corrected. Signatures can only be deleted or moved before the document is saved. Saving the document permanently adds the applied signatures to the document. In some instances, the location of a signature can only be changed by a system administrator.

  9. When you are satisfied with the signatures, select Sign with Signature Pad | Save Signatures to permanently apply the signature to the document.
    Note:

When another user has a lock on the document or when a document is read-only, Save Signatures is disabled. If there are unsaved redactions and unsaved signatures on a document, the user is prompted to save the redactions before saving the signatures.
